In honor of the 150th anniversary of the village of Glen Ellen, we are delighted to release a Riesling from one of the oldest Riesling vineyards in California
Tasting Notes: "The wine is very youthful and expressive, with beautiful aromas of apricot, pear, melon and, beneath it all, a wet-stone minerality. Tropical/floral terpenes and brilliantly crisp acidity perfectly balances the juicy fruit.
Vineyard Notes: The Wirz family has been farming in the Cienega Valley for 5 generations. The vineyard experiences up to 50 degree diurnal temperature swings and has soils high in pH. The vines that produced this Riesling were planted in 1964 on their own roots. Wide spaced bush-like vines yield just a ton per acre.
